What Is Taiwanese Wild Mountain Tea?

Taiwanese 'Wild Tea' is a naturally growing tea plant that was discovered in Taiwan by the Portuguese via the native Taiwanese. It was cultivated in the Sun Moon Lake area (Nantou County) of Taiwan in the 19th century prior to the Japanese occupation. It has now returned to popularity as a type of black tea. It is currently being sold as "Mountain Tea" Taiwan.
